Our guild, Taken Aback, was born from a defining moment of adversity. It emerged as a response to leadership that prioritized ego over community, control over collaboration, personal gain over shared values, and lies over transparency. The actions of one individual shattered trust, broke friendships, and left the community reeling. But rather than let those actions define us, we chose to rebuild—not just as a team but as a community rooted in respect, honesty, and collective success.

The name reflects the profound shock and hurt of having what we worked so hard to build taken from us. But it also represents our resilience, determination, and commitment to rising above.
